Originally from the Caribbean Islands, this variant is similar to the red relative producing nice chocolate pods that have a fruity and slightly smokey flavor. This variety was named for its resemblance to a Scotsman's Bonnet.

This variety produces quite large pods approximately the size of a golf ball, starting green changing to a dark chocolate color.
